Position Summary:

Behavior Consultants Inc is looking for a part-time Behavior Technician. Candidate must be available 3-5 days during the week from 3-8 pm and one weekend day per month. Individuals must be interested in working one-on-one with children affected by autism spectrum disorders using the principles and teaching procedures of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Individuals should be highly motivated, have a desire to learn, and enjoy working with children. All of our Behavior Technicians are provided with a comprehensive training package prior to beginning work with children and training is ongoing under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the length of employment.


Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree preferred but not required
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred but not required
  • Experience with young children a plus!
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Regular access to a computer with high speed internet
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Must have daily access to a reliable and insured vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel to client location– (typically travel will not exceed more than one hour from home office)
  • Individuals with a degree, or currently taking classes toward a degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Engage clients in daily activities through implementation of an individualized, behavioral therapy program
  • Follow set protocol developed by Master’s Level Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Travel to and work in home, community and school settings
  • Collect daily data, graph results and implement behavioral support developed by Master’s Level Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Timely communication with other members of the team (phone, email and text)
  • Participate in meetings when needed

Hours/Availability:
  • Part-time position available to start
  • Must be available to work various M-F midafternoon and evenings shifts (2-8 pm) plus a few Saturday shifts per month

  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License
