Behavior Consultants places client needs first, upholding their dignity and respect. Our mission is to help our clients reach their ultimate potential, provide opportunity to build their skills and enhance their independence through engaging in productive activities.

As team players, we seek to positively influence as many lives as possible through collaborative care initiatives with providers of similar focus. We accomplish our mission adhering to the ethics and principles of applied behavior analysis.

Founder / President

Craig Bitter

Craig is the founder and president of Behavior Consultants, Inc.

He began the company as its only clinician and has acquired remarkable, talented professionals over the years to help families receive ABA services in their home. His bachelor’s education began with majors in psychology and religion followed by a Master’s degree in 1986 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Behavior Analysis and Therapy.

Craig’s professional experiences have been varied and include applying ABA while working in child maltreatment, developmental disability, mental illness and acquired brain injury. He’s presented at numerous local, state and international conferences on various behavior analysis topics and research.

His professional interests include developing clinical and organizational assessment tools, and seeing systems that work. Craig gains satisfaction from knowing that clients and their clinical therapists are making desired and meaningful changes in their personal and professional lives.

Craig enjoys training and running marathons from time-to-time.

Director of Brain Injury

Laura Myers


Laura is the Director of Brain Injury at Behavior Consultants where she also served as a Clinical Coordinator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University. For over a decade Laura has worked delivering home, school, community and clinic-based services to children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, and various developmental delays. Laura helped guide the development of the company’s offering in Autism Services in 2013. She enjoys spending time with family and relaxing with friends. She stays active and participates in her children’s school activities.

Director of Autism

Beckie Heggemeyer


Beckie is the Director of Autism at Behavior Consultants where she also served as a Clinical Coordinator. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in applied psychology from University of Baltimore. She completed her BCBA coursework sequence at Southern Illinois University. With more than 15 years in the field, Beckie has experience delivering applied behavior analysis services in hospitals, schools, clinics, and homes. Beckie is quite familiar with the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, having spent over five years on the neurobehavioral unit at Kennedy Krieger Institute with a focus on functional analysis of behavior and staff training. Beckie worked as a behavior analyst within a school district where she became very familiar with challenges and benefits of delivering ABA services within a classroom as well as developing and presenting district-wide trainings. Beckie has overseen ABA services in a center-based program for children with autism.

Clinical BCBA

Casey Ng-A-Fook


Casey is a Clinical BCBA and the Certification Coordinator at Behavior Consultants.  She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in psychology with a specialty in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Florida State University. She has participated in national and provincial conferences presenting paper and poster presentations related to her work in applied settings.  Casey worked as a clinical supervisor for a provincial wide intensive behavioral intervention program in Ontario, delivering ABA services, in home, school, clinic, and community settings for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.  Casey enjoys providing ABA services and consultation to families and individuals with traumatic brain injuries, in the home and in the community.  She enjoys time with family and friends, photography, traveling to new places and trying new things.

Clinical BCBA

Jennifer Means


Jennifer (Jeni) is a Clinical BCBA at Behavior Consultants.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in English and a master’s degree in education with a focus on ABA and an emphasis in Autism from Arizona State University.  Jeni has taught in a charter school, worked as a behavior technician within an autism clinic, and worked in home settings with persons with brain injury.  While Jeni is passionate about all aspects of ABA, she is especially enthusiastic about natural environment teaching and implementing evidence-based programs to increase social skills, specifically in the community. Jeni adores her family, especially her little son (and don’t forget beloved beagle). Her personal interests include gardening, canning, cooking, and DIY projects around the house. Jeni is a HUGE Detroit Tigers baseball fan and loyal Michigander as she believes her home state is the most beautiful place on earth.

Clinical BCBA

Kelsey Palermo-Re


Kelsey is a clinical BCBA with Behavior Consultants Inc. She received her bachelors degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Michigan State University before completing a Masters in Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She went on to complete her Applied Behavior Analysis coursework through Florida Institute of Technology. She aspires to combine her work in criminal justice and ABA in the future. Kelsey has a passion for helping people gain independence in their day to day lives through the implementation of ABA therapy. Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, photography, and staying active.

Clinical BCBA

Mackenzie Geisen


Mackenzie (Kenzie) is a Clinical BCBA with Behavior Consultants Inc. She earned a bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University in Allied Health Sciences and received a Masters in Education with Foundations of Applied Behavior Analysis from University of Cincinnati. Kenzie worked as a Registered Behavior Technician prior to becoming a BCBA and has worked in autism clinics, school-based and home-based services. She is very passionate about ABA, using evidence-based practices to provide individualized programs for each client to increase skills and promote long-term independence. Kenzie enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, exercising, playing music and making crafts.

Clinical BCBA

Morgan Litwiller


Morgan is a clinical BCBA with Behavior Consultants Inc. She completed her bachelor’s degree through Taylor University in Elementary Education and Special Education. Prior to becoming a BCBA, Morgan worked as a teacher for 2 years. She then went on to earn her graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through Ball State University with a certification in Autism and ABA. In addition, Morgan worked as a Registered Behavior Technician in schools, homes, and clinics before becoming a BCBA. She has a strong desire to use Applied Behavior Analysis to provide independence and the highest quality of life possible for each client. She especially enjoys utilizing the natural environment to teach her clients important skills that will enhance their lives. Outside of work, Morgan enjoys spending time with her husband and son, exercising, traveling, and reading a good book.

My Michigan Friends Coordinator

Nicole Barone


Nicole Barone is the My Michigan Friends Program Coordinator and a Registered Behavior Technician at Behavior Consultants Inc. She arranges and coordinates the company’s client social integration program in which clients participate is small groups within the community on both day and overnight trips. She delivers ABA therapy to both TBI and ASD clientele.  Nicole has worked in the field since 2001.  She’s a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) as well as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).  Nicole enjoys the continued professional and educational growth which the company offers. Nicole enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling and is a history junkie.

Billing Specialist

Melissa Graham

Melissa is the Billing and Admin Specialist at Behavior Consultants, Inc. She manages the company’s medical insurance and family deductible billing. Melissa is the client resource for insurance coverage and cost sharing questions. She has over 6 years of medical billing experience and handles each account with care. Melissa enjoys family vacations in Florida, photography and being outdoors in the sunshine!

Operations Coordinator

Sara Martens


Sara is the Operations Coordinator at Behavior Consultants. She joined the company after coordinating admissions within an educational setting.  Sara’s role at Behavior Consultants is to ensure the clinical schedule is appropriately prepared and runs smoothly.  She’s ultimately the liaison between the company’s many events and functions with its staff and clients.  Sara is often the first interface with employment applicants as well as those interested in therapeutic services.  Sara received her bachelor’s degree in Finance from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. In her spare time, Sara enjoys being with family and friends, knitting, hiking in western states and exploring the outdoor fun that Michigan offers.
