Founder / President

Craig Bitter


Craig is the founder and president of Behavior Consultants, Inc.

He began the company as its only clinician and has acquired remarkable, talented professionals over the years to help families receive ABA services in their home. His bachelor’s education began with majors in psychology and religion followed by a Master’s degree in 1986 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Behavior Analysis and Therapy.

Craig’s professional experiences have been varied and include applying ABA while working in child maltreatment, developmental disability, mental illness and acquired brain injury. He’s presented at numerous local, state and international conferences on various behavior analysis topics and research.

His professional interests include developing clinical and organizational assessment tools, and seeing systems that work. Craig gains satisfaction from knowing that clients and their clinical therapists are making desired and meaningful changes in their personal and professional lives.

Craig enjoys training and running marathons from time-to-time.





Clinical BCBA

Casey Ng-A-Fook

MS, BCBA

Casey is a Clinical BCBA and the Certification Coordinator at Behavior Consultants.  She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in psychology with a specialty in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Florida State University. She has participated in national and provincial conferences presenting paper and poster presentations related to her work in applied settings.  Casey worked as a clinical supervisor for a provincial wide intensive behavioral intervention program in Ontario, delivering ABA services, in home, school, clinic, and community settings for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.  Casey enjoys providing ABA services and consultation to families and individuals with traumatic brain injuries, in the home and in the community.  She enjoys time with family and friends, photography, traveling to new places and trying new things.




Clinical BCBA

Jennifer Freeman

PhD, BCBA-D

Jennifer is a Clinical BCBA at Behavior Consultants. She is established working with children with autism as well as with our clients with brain injuries. Her focus has been on increasing communication and functional living skills as well as establishing leisure skills and increasing reading comprehension. Following her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at Western Michigan University, Jennifer went on to complete both her master’s and doctoral degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis at WMU. Her dissertation topic was: Transitioning Children with Autism from a One-on-one Discrete-trial Setting to Special Education Classrooms. Jennifer is truly passionate about what she does and calls behavior analysis “an amazing field.” She smiles and nods when her beloved Western Michigan University advisor, Dr. Richard Malott says, “we are saving the world with behavior analysis.”




Director of Autism

Beckie Heggemeyer

MS, BCBA

Beckie is the Director of Autism at Behavior Consultants where she also served as a Clinical Coordinator. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in applied psychology from University of Baltimore. She completed her BCBA coursework sequence at Southern Illinois University. With more than 15 years in the field, Beckie has experience delivering applied behavior analysis services in hospitals, schools, clinics, and homes. Beckie is quite familiar with the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, having spent over five years on the neurobehavioral unit at Kennedy Krieger Institute with a focus on functional analysis of behavior and staff training. Beckie worked as a behavior analyst within a school district where she became very familiar with challenges and benefits of delivering ABA services within a classroom as well as developing and presenting district-wide trainings. Beckie has overseen ABA services in a center-based program for children with autism.




Clinical BCBA

Daniel Knight

MS, BCBA

Dan is a Clinical BCBA at Behavior Consultants. He is skilled and knowledgeable in various assessment packages. A primary focus of his career has been treating young children with developmental disabilities and autism, and in early intervention. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and his master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. Dan has worked in the New England Center for Children (a large educational center for children with autism and young adults with developmental disabilities), with clients diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, and has experience with several psychiatric conditions. Dan enjoys a variety of outdoor recreational activities including hiking, disc golf, and boating.






Clinical BCBA

Amber Kuzma

MS, BCBA

Amber is a Clinical BCBA at Behavior Consultants. She attained two bachelor’s degrees from Western Michigan University in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Amber received a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Behavior Analysis and Therapy. She worked for Child Protective Services and gained a passion to help families remain together. Her focus on treating significant problem behavior guided her involvement in research on domestic violence and teaching women how to protect themselves from entering or re-entering an abusive relationship. Her professional interests are managing significantly dangerous problem behavior, teaching functional independence skills, and staff/caregiver training. She also enjoys teaching conflict resolution and assertiveness skills. Amber has worked with typically developed foster and adopted children, adults and children with disabilities, and traumatic brain injury. Amber is a certified Professional Crisis Management (PCM) instructor. Amber enjoys: painting, cooking, and working with her five dogs (two therapy dogs, a narcotics and protection trained dog, and two senior couch potatoes).




Clinical BCBA

Jennifer Means

M Ed., BCBA

Jennifer (Jeni) is a Clinical BCBA at Behavior Consultants.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in English and a master’s degree in education with a focus on ABA and an emphasis in Autism from Arizona State University.  Jeni has taught in a charter school, worked as a behavior technician within an autism clinic, and worked in home settings with persons with brain injury.  While Jeni is passionate about all aspects of ABA, she is especially enthusiastic about natural environment teaching and implementing evidence-based programs to increase social skills, specifically in the community. Jeni adores her family, especially her little son (and don’t forget beloved beagle). Her personal interests include gardening, canning, cooking, and DIY projects around the house. Jeni is a HUGE Detroit Tigers baseball fan and loyal Michigander as she believes her home state is the most beautiful place on earth.




Director of Brain Injury

Laura Myers

MS, BCBA

Laura is the Director of Brain Injury at Behavior Consultants where she also served as a Clinical Coordinator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University. For over a decade Laura has worked delivering home, school, community and clinic-based services to children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, and various developmental delays. Laura helped guide the development of the company’s offering in Autism Services in 2013. She enjoys spending time with family and relaxing with friends. She stays active and participates in her children’s school activities.
